Plugin Architecture
Posted by Robert Houllahan on April 21, 2011 at 8:30 pmFeature Request:
Plugin Architecture for Resolve, I was talking to Steve Shaw today about the DI system plugin for LightSpace and how the subject had been brought up. I think a universal Plug setup for Resolve so that third party software like the LightSpace Plug and others for filters, grain management, etc. would be great.

i would love OFX plugin in Resolve … but i hope the Add grain will be integrated directly in resolve (now that they have noise reduction….)

Blackmagic won’t consider any plugins unless they work in realtime.

April 22, 2011 at 3:19 pmthe lightspace plugin just sync the lightspace calibration patches with the color grading app (would be resolve in this case) , so you can use your SDI path (resolve decklink) to send the patches for the calibration (basically create a timeline of patches and it start and stop the playback from the lightspace software )
i use this in SCARTCH

April 22, 2011 at 8:18 pmright thats what I’m saying that plugin on scratch would seem pretty easy to implement on Resolve

April 22, 2011 at 11:55 pmIt may come as a surprise to a few users, but Cinespace support was and, I believe, still is part of Linux Resolve. It was taken out for the Mac version, which makes sense, if you consider it’s price-$7k or something like that. Nevertheless, Cinespace can create a compatible LUT, that can be used by the Resolve on a Mac. So, there really is no need for Cinespace plugin…

May 7, 2011 at 7:00 pmHi chaps,
A LightSpace plug-in for Resolve would be very easy to do, and I have had some discussion with BMD regarding this.
Problem seems to be getting them to actually commit do the work…
This is not something we can do, as there is no SDK available for us to use, as we did with Scratch.
What I can say is to do the plug-in would be trivial coding – SGO did their plug-in for Mistika in a few hours.
Cheers,
Steve
