Tablet it is, now just need to figure out the size I want. Assume C4D supports Tablets (Mac version)? I know Photoshop CS4 does so it would be a two birds with one stone deal.

Well one reason is why pay for parts of the wheel one already has in C4D? PhotoModeler is $1000-$3500 — if anything, it seems more like a competitor to C4D. C4D plugins range from $50-$600 … so there’s the reason, cost!
Given that PhotoModeler exists as a product (thank you for sharing that link), there does indeed seem to be a market place for 2D to 3D conversions.
Extending on this … 3D cameras (both still and motion) along with cameras that can provide image depth data seems like it’s going to get popular.

I don’t know Adam, seems like a perfect fit for Cinema 4D, heck even the feature list in PhotoModeler lists NURBS, Lines, edges, curves, cylinder, shape marking tools … pretty much what’s already in C4D. Seems like a perfect plug-in for C4D to me?

I’m working with fairly simple green screen pics (padlock). Surprised no one has a quality plug-in to do this – doesn’t need to be perfect, a little touch up would fine – big time saver.
I guess this isn’t a common feature request or process people do much??

Excellent, thank you. My initial projects will be small until I’ve become comfortable with this tool. Does Cinema 4D provide any “warning” indicators to help one determine when more RAM is needed?

Randy,
Thanks for the response. The Cactus3d plug-INS look interesting, but I’m not clear on which ones will meet my needs?
Character Bundle Pro ? $250
Thanks Rob

Mario,
Thanks for the scoop — it will be a card I purchase soon.
On a side note, I was able to get QMaster to work and use 4 cores. Took a 1 hour job down to 16 min – key was to tell Qmaster to NOT use “All Network Interface” – assign it to my NIC specifically.
However, if Matrox compressHD works as well as you and others say, it would probably take 1-2 mins vs. 16 min.
How is 1080p output quality (visually) with the Matrox card?

Jan,
These are all opinions, I don’t think they need to be qualified with “for me”. I was also clear in my original post with “everyone has different needs/uses”, so I really don’t think “for me” is necessary.
People have different opinions and that is all good. The beauty of not being sensored on this site is a plus, comments listed in this thread would be removed from Apple’s web site.
I still plan to use FCS 3 (especially if I get that Matrox compressHD working well), but FCS 3 lack luster performance is starting to make other products become my choice of “machine”, because as you say, those machines do more work for me in less time.
I was hoping to see more “Shake” get integrated into motion, possibly even provide optional Node/Layer view — for some tasks I prefer nodes, for other’s I like layers. But there are so little “new features” in FCS 3 it leaves me wondering Apple’s commitment to FCS.
But it’s ok to disagree and your point of moving markers is a good one, but to be honest, that “new feature” should have been implement long ago when they introduced markers in the first place, IMHO.
Cheers, Rob.
