I’m a new owner of Cinema 4D (Core) and was wondering if I needed to increase my RAM from 8GB to 16GB or higher since Cinema 4D R11.5 is native 64bit and hence has access to all my RAM.

Could you experienced folks suggest a good amount of RAM? Has more than 8GB really helped speed up your projects?

    Thanks, Rob.

8 GB should be plenty unless you’re creating humongous scenes or using huge textures.

Excellent, thank you. My initial projects will be small until I’ve become comfortable with this tool. Does Cinema 4D provide any “warning” indicators to help one determine when more RAM is needed?

If you run out of ram you may get a warning that you’re running low. Problem is, it may be too late at that point. But really, with 8 gigs you shouldn’t run out of ram. FWIW, I’m still running on a WinXP 32 machine that only recognizes 2 GB and it’s almost never a problem,
