    OK,

Client wants both QT (animation) and WMV. Here’s my problem–

Comps are 1725×768. I’ve been creating these via a powerpc dual 1.8 with ae7 and 2gb ram. Client has signed off on my smaler wmvs and now I need to ouput the full thing at full res and size. Plus I got moved to another machine that is better, an intel quad coreduo (3 gh) and 4gb rma with ae 7 (with xserve). I moved the whole project over, open upand setup the queue. It renders 6 second or so and then either crashes or says it failed due to inability to create image buffers (gives me 1920×1080, 3500×1600 and so forth).

ANY SUGGESTIONS??? I have 24 hours to resolve this but I really ned any help right away. Open to anything. Codec change, resetting ram (how to do?) trashing preferences. I just can’t re-install the software.

    Thanks!!

turns out my client prefers wmvs so I’ll be using flip4mac instead,

but this brings up another question. To avoid ‘double export’ (render to QT, then to wmv) Is there a way to either:

render in AE render queue using flip4mac to make wmv?

    or

render QT reference in AE which saves time then I export out of QT play pro with Flip4mac?

    Thanks again!

Thanks for all the input. I did the math computation stuff and explained to my client the ‘tradeoff’ in positioning or time. He was cool with that and It looks great now. thanks so much for everyone’s input.

    forgive the stupid question,

Are you asking did I just render an alpha only and send? That I didn’t. Is that what I should do or are you talknig about something else?

    Thanks for the responses,

the guy who ingested the HDV footage yesterday in the master edit suite wasn’t sure what to do so he just did uncompressed 1080i. Although it has definite iframe advantages (M. Palmer explained to me yesterday), It’s not necessary to have it at this resolution at this stage. We’re also NOT using any HDCAM.

i had already decided to recompress the material to HDV 1080i 60 and work with it that way. I will still retain the source footage for relinking when I return to the master suite. Please tell me if I’m thinking incorrectly or if I’m forgetting something.

    thanks again for the input!

June 4, 2007 at 8:56 pm in reply to: keyframe stretching

I understand you and thank you for responding,

However I think I tried that and dtill no luck.

Here’s what I did. See if you can help me (or anyone):

    – I place a keyframe ten frames before the actual clip start and 10 frames after the clip end (allowing for its half of a 20 frame dissolve.
    -I then copied the clip
-I then clicked the next clip and clicked paste attributes
-What results is the the first keyframe pasted either 10-20 frames before the clip start, BUT the end keyframe is pasted at the end of the clip, NOT ten frames after.

I have tried this different ways (either with the scale attribute checked or not) and the result is the same. If you try to past attribute to the original clip that already has the correct alignment, it will replace them with ones that have the wround alignment I mentioned earlier.

So that doesn’t seem to work. Any other ideas?

I actualyl found it myself, but this is fine. I have no problem going with either the ATI 9600 or 9800 (unless someone can tell me why not to).

    thanks for the help!

April 23, 2007 at 12:35 am in reply to: quick subclip issue. Help?

    Hi,

    thank for fast response.

according to the guy I gave tha material to, I think the master clips do connect, but he doesn’t have any subclip info.

I’m thinking one problem might be I didn’t change reel #s and the time code on each tape was the same. But I think I can correct that via changing the numbers manually and linking the clips.

where I’m a bit befuddled is the guy says the clips don’t say anything at all. Ideas?
