Yes, we are all doomed, but X has nothing to do with it.
Can you explain a bit more how you have your project arranged? Is it compound clip’d or is it clips in the project timeline?
In either case, what happened when you trimmed the offending clip to its proper length?

And that is the best reason ever to imagine a new Mac Pro is forthcoming: Alexa uses Pro Res 444.
No Mac Pro? Alexa will have to go somewhere else.

I just want to tell stories. And X is great at cutting. Exporting has been a pain. Round tripping has been a pain. Getting the project started was a real big giant pain. Getting Compound Clips and primary storyline and all the new jargon learned, another big pain. But actually cutting pic is very nice, and the search is a big part of that.

Exactly.
There’s more to do than edit of course, but they have done that right. Any editor who takes the opportunity/risk to just cut some pic in X will be amazed at how cool it is.

There’s two parts:
The pro part: It keeps losing media and I have to relink. Yesterday it stopped saving.
The 6 part: It isn’t release 🙂 but I have planned to buy it.

That’s a big point, imo. “in house” I’ve never coded a video editing app, but I imagine it’s pretty hard.
