Apologies Bill… I must have misunderstood your original point.

DSLRs are the DV Revolution 2.0

There’s going to be a lot of blood… and a lot of bad product, but the end result and change is good.

With thai said (while I agree with some of your points)… I doubt the Cow will want to fund the production costs of Rob and I debating the business merit. Most of the videos we do are specific technical skills that relate to production or post.

Business and art are great fodder for the forums.

  • Tony, don’t be a fanboy and take cheap swings. Macs and PCs equipped to run video use same processors and cards. And cost about same. Premiere is not. Cheaper or lower powers option, in fact it’s showing it’s age better than FCP

The simple rule is buy the best machine you can. Do RAM and drive upgrades yourself. Always get a warranty

Oh, and don’t make Mac PC or Adobe Apple Avid jokes as they have lost most of the humor.

True pros use the tools they have and multiple products from several manufactures to get the job at hand done.

This is far more than a software issue. FireWire port on camera expects FireWire at other end to capture. Unless you can reprogram your camera you ate SOL. Replace your FireWire card or repair machine.
