Reformat the external drive and make sure it is Mac Formatted

Create a New Project
Tell it to Trim MEdia (if you want only whats used… then 0 Frame handles)Set destiantion tell it to Copy Media

Unless you have stero effects…. pan narration center… leave music panned left and right

No problem….
In DVD SP.. press F1 and it looks nearly identical to iDVD… as you grow past…. press F2 and F3 to access more advanced layouts.

Post house may ahve mastered to that… some formats like digibeta use a -18 db levels. I would suggest making sure tracks are panned center… then duplicate the audio by Option dragging a ssecond copy to a lower track.

Compress the file using Compressor..
And use DVDSP for better results

If you need to change a clip’s PAR… I will cut it to the clipboard.. change PAR… and paste into same seunce.
If you need to apply PAR to a clip… copy a good clip.. then choose Paste Attributes and paste the PAR (this can be done to multiple clips at once)
If you need to remove improve PAR… right click and choose Remove Attributes.

Umm…. you seem to have A LOT of feature requests for a cheap camera.
if you want DVCAM and HDV… then Sony is really your only choice…. although I don’t think the HDV can switch on the fly (liek decks can)
Speaking of decks
DO NOT USE a CAMERA AS A DECK
You can get a dedicated HDV and DVCAM deck for $2K…. You’ll never find a camera that cheap. But if you trash your camera heasd by shuttling and rewinding.. you’ll spend more than 2K geting it fixed.
I suggest you start at B&H and look at Sony HDV cameras and see what matches your numerous feature requests.
