Looks like some strokes, that have been blurred, then had a glow applied (likely a dupicate copy blurred additionally, then its blending mode set to Add or Screen)

Repair the drives with disk utility, try a different cable as well

Make sure you mark out region you want to print to video… and also choose record automatically from dialog box

Roland makes a nice pair with two inputs (one mini for the computer and one RCA for the lower end deck or camcorder).
