A simple rule with projectors. You can’t project Black.
I mention this because adjusting the projector won’t give you the results that ambient light control will. Find a projector that disappoints you and then try it in a dark room, possibly at night.
The only way to really beat that rule is to have a projector with such a bright light level that ambient light looks dark. 5-12k lumens.Ray Palmer, Engineer

Ty is right on the money. Many have tried two transmitters to one receiver and all have failed.
I see it all the time where someone has a lav and a second person turns on a hand held mic on the same frequency. Crash and distortion.
It is not pretty specially when it is tied to a PA system for 1000 people at a live event.Ray Palmer, Engineer

If you know anyone with a frequency analyser, they can see what is out there in RF land.
We did this a remote location at a Dam site. We needed to make sure that nothing was going to interfere with our systems. That is basically what the scan does on the Sennheiser, it looks for holes in the RF spectrum.
You will be amazed what is out there. -
A similar challenge happened to me. We had been using a Sennheiser wireless mic system for 6 months without a problem. Come one Monday morning, the system would not work. It turns out that on that Monday, one of our TV stations added a DTV signal. It landed right on the freq that we had been using.
Thank goodness for frequency agile wireless microphone systems. -
Can I suggest another approach?
We have a Varicam and we also do a lot of Timelapse work.
When possible, we like to use Digital Still cameras for our time lapses. It frees up the Varicam and depending on the location, we can fit the still camera in better locations. The still cameras can capture in a higher resolution than we can get with our Varicam.
We then take the still files into After Effects and make a movie. It works great.
The Rebel and some other Digital Still cameras can take a contact closure to take a picture. We use a simple timer relay that we can set to any time cycle you can imagine.Check out https://www.timelapsetechnologies.com

We have two HDX900s and one Varicam and I can tell you that the HDX900s are the preferred camera by my shooters.
The HDX900 has the Firewire, HDSDI, SDSDI, Composite outputs where the Varicam is only HDSDI.
The HDX900 can record both 1080i and 720p where the Varicam is only 720p.
A drop-in wireless microphone receiver has a home on the HDX900 but not on the Varicam.Truely a more flexible camera than the Varicam.
