    Hi Zee,

I seem to have this same problem about once a week.

Sometimes I will try restarting the computer with the external drives off, then turn them on. If this doesn’t work, I will trash the FCP preferences, launch the project and then reset my preferences in FCP.

Re: autosave vault… if you are able to open the project from a previously saved autosave file, be sure and “save your project as” once you open it. Otherwise I have found myself with two projects with the same name.

    Hope this helps,
    Randy

Do I nest the HD sequence by copying it into a DV project? Thank you.

Thanks. I’m new to FCP and sure wasn’t expecting the bit of humor this morning.

Thanks Jeremy, that’s perfect. I do have 5.1.1 disks, and that link should do the trick.
    Thanks again,

Thanks Jim. The reason I was asking was that I am working on 5.1.2 and are already into the project. An editor that is going to help me is working in 5.1.4 and we can’t seem to find a download on Apple’s site for the 5.1.2??? If you know where we can find that I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks for your help.

    Thanks Rafael,

I have it all working fine now…not sure exactly which procedure helped. I had found the prefs before you responded and trashed them. I did run disc warrior on the drives, and I did figure out which clip started the problem and trashed it, too. Then the project booted again with the drives going. I’ll also look into the ram. It hasn’t given me any problems in the past.

Thank you again for all of the great advice.

    Sincerely,
    Randy
