You guys were right about the thickness of the soft edge. cut it back until no more flicker. Thanks

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I’ve rendered all. I’m going to check out the edge. Now that you’ve mentioned it. I think they might be too small. I’m sitting with the book trying to figure out how to take the completed spot out to DVD pro for the first time…pretty scary so far.

Thanks guys, yes I did read the manuals and found that part out about putting on the timeline and typing. Unfortunately, I’m in a trial by fire and can’t do tutorials right now. The having to layer things threw me. At least my instincts we’re correct about the layering. I agree that…Avid’s basic titler is more user friendly. I forgot to ask, can you outline letters? I figured out the drop shadow. I’m going to check out the other options for more sophisticated titling after I complete this project. Thanks again

Thanks, I tried that but it increases the size of the image within the smaller frame. I am curious what kevin means by demuxing the archive.org stuff.

Thanks Walter. I’ll be sure to get hold of it. The only thing saving me so far is intuition and working on media 100 back in the day. I figured out the scaling part but making it circular is a mystery.

Thanks to everyone who responded. I wish I was near DC. The archive.org site is great! Coronet films are the best worst I’ve ever seen. I downloaded a couple of things but they’re 320×240. Is there any way to resize in FCP. I’ll check out the photo website. If only fair use wasn’t such a gray area. I found a 10 sec clip of Bill Haley doing the open to “rock around the clock” that would be perfect but why court disaster.
