Even a G5 2.0 double processor with 8 GB Ram hits the minimum for Studio2
Best machinery is a quad core processor.

Keep the DVCPro50 format, because it’s 4:2:2. This is better for compositing and colour grading than DV.

If you want to work on FW 800 there ia a good LaCie Raid which works on Raid Level 5.

So, now i think I solved the problem. It’s not crashing now. he only thing I haven’t got is the Monitor control. I use a Aja IO. as soon as I apply colorista I loose my monitors. I have to restart FCP again. Then the monitors are working as usual.
I think at the moment Leopard is a liitle too early to work professionally with it. It’s too new to third party products. I’m still using 4.11 with FCP5.Rainer

colorista seems to have aproblem with Leopard. I am running 1.0.1 and I give it another try.

I updated and had problems.
Soundtracks in FCP won’t run, FCP crashed, I had to go over Soundtrack pro to solve the problem, Flip for Mac won’t take FCP files because of the sound problem, I had to reinstall Flip for Mac again.
So there have been some issues.
Now it runs fine.
And I did no beginner mistakes such as prefs, or renew the HD register .Rainer

go into the Hard disks Programm and repair volume settings, then restart, and try again
