[James Pryce] “Actually, any idea why autorender starts up and tells me 50 mins but if i instigate a full render it says 13 hours!?”
When you order FC to render and FC start to do it, the progression bar do not know how much of the time-line needs to be rendered and which effects are on the sequence.
FC calculates that the whole sequence will be rendered at the speed is rendering at that moment.

Imagine that your sequence is one our long but have only some heavy-to-render effects on the first few clips. FC may tell you that will need a few hours to render all, but in fact, after those first clips have been rendered the progression bar will start to speed up and the “remaining time” will go down very fast.

Those plugins DON’T work in FC6/7. The architecture is completely different.
There are tons of plugins for FC7 and many of them free.
Have a look to CoreMelt or Noise Industries.

I really don’t catch on which stage are you.
Have you applied the key in FC and now are you trying to export the picture with the new background?
Then you want FC renders all your chapters (sequences?) without you to take care of the render/export?
In FC you can only export manually (Export QT Movie or whatever other option).

What you can do is to make FC to render all the sequences while you are away.
Once the sequences are fully rendered, exporting is fast.
    – Open the sequences you want to render and in USER PREFERENCES > GENERAL > AUTO RENDER.
Set it so FC will start to render automatically, few minutes after FC is inactive.
    – Keep checked “Render RT Segments”.

Not sure, but having a Blackmagic, I would look in the Renders Folder a folder called “Constant Frame” and delete it.

In DiskUtility, select the volume inside the disk and click the blue link (down in the window) “Mounting Point”.

The picture on top is not too bad.
You won’t be able to recover any detail on the whites (T-shirt and beard of the guy at the right), because once the picture is clipped its only remains white.
But the faces of both guys are OK.
Use the 3W-Color Correction filter and low the “Middles” slider.
If you have Colorista, use the “Exposure” slider.

    As david said.
You can export QT movies (with the same specs of the FC sequence) from Motion and import to FC.
    No rendering then.

Have a look to the Browser’s Alpha column.
If its shows “No Alpha”, set “Strait”.
Then drag the graphic to the time-line gain.

Sorry, but I think you are in troubles.
Apple XDCAM is just XDCAM optimized for FC/QT.
The fact is that as soon as you rewrap the camera files (MXF or MP4) to QT, the clips shows up as “Apple XDCAM”. Footage from external recorders like the NANO-Flash (XDCAM based), show up on QT as “Apple XDCAM” too.
I’m afraid that the only way to get plain XDCAM (no Apple XDCAM), is by working on a PC.
Both codecs are the same; the only that change is the name.
There are no technical reasons to reject your stuff.
All the XDCAM stuff produced by any mac worldwide is “Apple XDCM”, and tons are delivered and broadcasted every day (as QT or MXF) without problems.

BTW to rewrap your XDCAM QT files as MXF, you can try this Convergent-Desing free rewrapper:

    No 4GBs limit.
