    hi

i want to deliver MXF to TV station with Codec XDCAM HD422. i made a test file mxf through MXF4MAC and XDCAM export from FCP.

i received rejection stating that codec should be XDCAM HD422 and not Apple XDCAM HD422.

i checked the file in xdcam transfer and its showing Apple XDCAM HD422 as a compressor.

can somebody please guide me on this?

    regards

Sorry, but I think you are in troubles.
Apple XDCAM is just XDCAM optimized for FC/QT.
The fact is that as soon as you rewrap the camera files (MXF or MP4) to QT, the clips shows up as “Apple XDCAM”. Footage from external recorders like the NANO-Flash (XDCAM based), show up on QT as “Apple XDCAM” too.
I’m afraid that the only way to get plain XDCAM (no Apple XDCAM), is by working on a PC.
Both codecs are the same; the only that change is the name.
There are no technical reasons to reject your stuff.
All the XDCAM stuff produced by any mac worldwide is “Apple XDCM”, and tons are delivered and broadcasted every day (as QT or MXF) without problems.

BTW to rewrap your XDCAM QT files as MXF, you can try this Convergent-Desing free rewrapper:
