You may need to allow more tracks for real time performance.

You shouldn’ be editing that kind of footage directly in FC.
H264 is not supported.
If you have already edited your sequence you can change the sequence codec by Prores-422 and set rendering in 8bYUV or High Precision YUV.
Next time you better convert the footage before editing.

I always leave it Automatic, but you should test both options.
In Motion, are you rendering at 16b?

If you intend to work a lot with DSLR footage, you should have a look to FCPX or Premier Pro.

That’s wrong.
The Kona doesn’t take part on any com/decompression or rendering process.
Some of the Matrox IO devices compress H264.

In the preferences, you need to uncheck “Scale clips to Sequence settings”.
Pictures will come full size.
Then will fit or overflow the Canvas depending on the picture size.

You haven’t chose the best application to manage Sill Sequences, but..I would try this way:
– Set the “Frame Control ON.
– In “Rate Conversion”, use “Fast: Nearest Frame” (that will make to repeat the stills without any blending).
– Set Duration 300%.
