I bet you are editing in a DV sequence.
Try changing the sequence codec by DVCPro50.
Set the Canvas at 100% to see how really looks.

Hi Roohollah,
There is an historic problem on running EX footage on Mac Pros.
I don’t know why, but since the format was introduced they have been tons of complains on managing that codec in the big Mac Pros, while the same codec behaves flawlessly on MBP and iMacs.
The only thing I could suggest you is to try to optimize your system.
Repairing permissions and most of all rebuilding directories and fixing “Files Finder Info”, with some application like DiskWarrior or TechTools.

What you have to do is stop editing on a sequence with the wrong settings.
– Open a new sequence and conform to any clip of your footage, so settings will match.
– Select and copy all the stuff on the wrong sequence and paste on the new one.
– Select all the stuff you have pasted and “left-click > Remove Attributes: Basic Motion + Distort.
Things should match now.

Shane, amazingly not discontinued at all, but on the first row of AJA web site.
Probably they still finding some incautious buyers not aware that the time for the ioHD has gone with FC.For a matter of decency, they should stop selling the ioHD, or release the drivers so the device could be used on other NLE systems.

Many of those gamma and color issues are fixed by installing QT.7.
Do it if you don’t have it done yet.

You mean to use the BM Camera clip to show what you can do with FCPX?
As a fast camera demo is OK; as a NLE test is pitiful.

The footage get that distortion because is interpreted as Anamorphic by FC, so you must to go to the Browser and make sure that the 4×3 stuff is not checked on the “Anamorphic” column.

As Nick said, PAL DVD players can play NTSC DVDs.
The Hollywood movies DVDs distributed in Europe are NTSC.
No need to make any conversion.
