You can do it like that, but there are few other technics that produce much B&W photo-like image.

I’ve been running FC 5.0.4 untill now and now I’ve got the chance to upgrade to 5.1.x because I;ve finished the projects I was working. You think is worth the up-grade? The truth is that 5.0 is working gerat. No crashes, no problems with effects, not corrupted files. I read the people complaining a lot with the 5.1.x. Should I wait a bit more to Apple release a really stable version, or is 5.1.4 really finished?

Is a bit of a mess with the names. 4 or 5 years ago you could find a lot of DVDs that you could extrat an MPG (i don’t remember the extensio) that has toguether video and audio. Then you should apply a Demuxer to separate audio and video. When they started to use .AC3, . aiff and .wav and you ripped these DVDs, you got the audio and video and video already separated. This is what I meant about muxing or not muxing. I think this is why DVDSTP can not use MPG audio, because can not mux it.

Hi martin,
There is an small application call “File Juicer” that may can help you. It extract the information from corrupted files and so. I’ve used with stills (the tipical .jpeg that get corrupted) and worked great. Just drop the file on top of the application and Filejuicer put everything that can starct in a folder.

If you de-interlace first, you will get a less smooth effect.
Actually FC do a good job in slow-mo. If you are getting very noticiable interlacing artifacts you should have a look to the field-dominance of your footage and your time-line. Anyway if you time-remap in FC set to Best quality the render-motion setting.
AE7 it got a powerfull engine for slow-mo. Make sure that you “interpret” the footage correctly first. Them when you allow the time-remmapping, set the “Frame-blend” option. And when you render don’t forguet to set “Fields Render” to ON in the render setting window.

The only format that is really muxed is MPG2 video with MPG1-layer II audio. They can be muxed in a MPG file because both are MPG. When we use AC3, aiff or wav (not MPG), the files are packed toguether in program-stream, transport-streams or what ever, but there are not really muxed.
