But do Sheer10b got the same bugs than the Apple10b Unc? If so, is a matter of the QT “10b codecs”?

It seems that if you didn’t upgrade from FC5.0.x you loos that option while exporting with QT. Anyway as David says, why don’t you want to use Compressor? I work with FC5.0.4 and i still got the MPG2 exporting option, but I don’t remember using it since I’ve got Compressor. Neader i use DVDSTP to make the MPG2.

I really would like to work with these formats but..I’ve got just a SONY 170P. Any way sometimes I swithct the Video-Out to my BlackMagic and I capture in 10b. Them I open the clip in SHAKE and I use Primatte or KeyLight. When I pull the key I think I’m in Hollywood. 🙂

Would these bugs be noticiable in a process to treat DV footage with some chroma rebuilding and color correction?
Basically is what I do. I set my DVCam footage in a 10b Unc, and y set your Chroma Sharpener (I’ve just purchsased but I haven’t had time yet to test it well) or the MB deartifacter, before to pass the CC3W.
Do Sheer make a better job?

Sorry to say you but you never did exported with QT an MPG2 with the audio muxed. You may had use MediaPipe, MissingMPGTools or ffmpgx to do so but never QT. As long as I remember the only way to mux a video stream with audio is when auio is MP2 (When you use AC3 or PCM, the audio is not muxed).
QT can read MP2 but can not export to that format.
I’ve see in MPGStreamclip the option CONVERT TO MPG2 with MP2 AUDIO. But you can not convert an .mov, you can convert a VOB or so. Any way MP@ audio is really low quality. I’f you can avoid to use it.

Kim,
Just open the filter in the viewer. In the effects menu click: “make favorite effect” (or Option F). The filter with the parametters that you want to keep will appear in the folder “Favorites” in your Effect window. Them you can rename it and apply it as you want.

If you got SHAKE, there is a macro that make everything for you, even faking different kind of CRT tubes and deformations. Is call TV Screen and you can download it from fxShare.

That right Gary. I’ve noticed that to check the option: CREATE PDF COMPATIBLE FILE is a must when you save Ilustrator CS2 files to be open in FC. If you don’t check the option, FC can not read the alpha channel.

Hi Sam,
I do not make many blu screens, but I’ve read few things about how to prepare the film to improve the keyeing. Mostly is for the people that – like me- try to pull a key frpm a DV camara. You can find these short tutorials in the Ken Stone and the LAFCUG web sites. Look allso for one call ” Chroma Key basic for Gerrillas’. Basically the thing is to apply, before the key, a”chroma smoothing” filter , for instances the one of Graeme Nattress: Chroma Sharpener or NICER or some that you can get free on the web. Whith that filter you low the blockiness of the DV footage making easy the keying. You have to set your clips in a time-line with a higher quality codec (i.e. 8b Unc) to really let that filter work. If you do it in a DV time-line you wouldn’t get not improvement.
Any way the docs I’ve sugested you will splain everything better than me.
