Have a look in your main LIbrary>Recipts. You should have a Final Cut Pro Help package.
If you don’t have it I would recommend you to reinstall your last version of FC because that package belong to FC. I recommend you to reinstall as well the last ProApp Support and the Apple Qmaster.

The first think to do is to see if FC is interpreting properly the “field-order”. FC supose that if your clip is DV must to be always “lower-first” but some times isn’t it.
So the way is to play the clips with FC and watch it in a interlaced monitor.
You can check the field-order in the brownser. When you are sure that the order is set properly in the brownser (or in the clip settings) then you can drag the clips to the time-line. If the clip got a different field order than the time-line, FC will set a “Shift-fields” filter in the clip and the problem will be solved like that.
You must be carelul when working with some video-cards (Blackmagic for example) because the card take care of this difference in the field order and make this “Shift fields” by it self. In this case you must uncheck the “Shift-fields” filter set by FC. Because if you shift the order twice you are like in the beginning, with the order wrong.

Don’t worry about levels for internet. The files will be played in computers, so you got not “legal levels”. But you should think about the difference in gamma when playing a movie in a Mac because the monitors. Normally the movies look darker in PC and you should compate it. Have alook to the article of Graeme nattress in the lafcug web site. It got the information you need.
I recommend you to de-interlace your film too before to compres it for the web or while compresing it. Small movies can not be interlaced (at least in QT).

When you export from FC to QT, what you get is a .mov. Put your clip in the FCs time-line and drop the filter “Time code reader” (In the effects, in Viideo). The TC of the time-line will appear in top of your image.

Or you can keep all in 16×9 to keep the ful quality . In Compressor you have the pre-sets for 16×9 and DVDSTpro will manage them without any problem, Some old DVD players may not display the film in 16×9 and will do it in 4×3, but just the really old ones.

Which version of FC are you using?How long is your film? Which codec? What computer are you using? What kind of HDs?
Do you keep your system fit? Permission, caches, directories?

Please have a look in the brownser and see if the data-rate of the captured clips is exactly 48Khz.

Have you set “rendering in high precision YUV” and “Motion filtering quality” to BEST?
Are you animating the LiveType file inside FC?
