In the Render Queue, go to the Output module. Is the Stretch option checked?

I’ve found it best to always render from AE using the default “Lossless” settings and then do the encoding (usually to PhotoJPEG or H.264) in Quicktime. It’s really just my personal preference, but it seems to work very well.

You can make some clouds using the Fog Lights preset. Use CC Toner and Levels to get them looking they way you would like. You may also want to experiment with some of the Distort effects also.
Use Distort -> Bugle to get the sphere effect, then put a circular mask on it.

Yes, I’ve checked the help file and watched Aharon’s tutorial. I think the problem that I’m having is that my path is not a closed shape; it’s more of a straight line. Is there any way to paste a “non-closed” path onto a position property?

I’m certainly not the best one to answer this question, but since the forum has been quiet today, so I’ll give it a shot 🙂

Sounds like you may have a format or resolution mismatch. How did you export from AE? Are you using the same format as the rest of the sequence in Studio?

  • Just to clarify, are you importing into Apple DVD Studio Pro or Adobe Encore DVD?

For the most part, that will be filter/behavior specific. If the filter you are using takes a source object (like Repel, for example) then you can drop any object in the source well. I don’t know if there is any “roll-your-own” way to accomplish that…

Sadly, more RAM is probably the fix. Check to see if you have any page outs before starting Motion, as this would indicate a strange problem.

Do you know of any resources with tutorials or guides for creating particle systems?

Great! If you don’t mind, share a project file of what you come up with. I’d like to see it.
