    Help creating “burning paper” effect

    Hello,
    I’ve been charged with creating a motion graphic of a smouldering, paper edges burning type of effect. Pretty standard stuff of what you might see in a Civil War documentary or something like that. I’m pretty new to Motion but have a lot of experience with programs like Flash so I’m pretty familiar with the general concepts. I don’t see any kind of built in effect like this that would’ve made my life oh so easy… any advice on how to create an effect like this? How to approach such a thing?

    Thanks! I’ll check it out. I’ve also got something decent happening with various masks revealing a “burnt” layer, but the combo of the two might be really good.
