thanks for the reply. So am I losing any quality? Seems like I’m only losing convenience of both audio and video on one cable with a HDMI cable. and the software extras that come with the HD Link products.

I have trashed the pref’s and no luck. I use the Sony DVW-A500(DigiBeta) all day long on another system with no problems at all. must be a FCP issue.
