Thanks all. that solves some of the issues. Also, the client had got a bad deck from the rental house (kept shutting off, even while playing a tape) this was the main issue (the bad deck from rental house) Client also had a bad Kona card, AJA was very helpful.

    Derek,
Thanks for the info, I had no idea about this new law.
It really seems as if they don’t want us to fly at all!

    Thanks.

the footage that I’m using is digi beta, however, some of it has been shot via RF cameras, recorded either to a d-beta machine or a EVS than dubbed over to d-beta for me. So, even though it is D-beta, it has been through the “ringer” before it got to me.

    Thom, Walter, thanks.

[walter biscardi] “I don’t know about other cards, but with the AJA Kona boards it’s not remotely the same thing up-converting through the cards and scaling the video up in FCP. The AJA Up-convert process is much much cleaner than what FCP can do”

Walter, that’s what i thought, that the video would be cleaner and it’s not really much cleaner at all. At least not enough to re-capture all the footage that we would have to capture. Could there be a problem with the Kona 2 card? I do know that every time I open the Kona Control Panel the settings get switched back from the settings for 525i to 720p upconvert to 525i to 525i ?

    Thanks again.
btw, I have learned a lot from your Color DVD!

Thanks for the link, however, I think that might be a little to wide for my needs (ENG, handheld, need some lens length, interviews, a little bit of everything, need to be versatile.) Anyone using the Fuji HA 16×6.3 or the percision focus assist lens’s? Any user insight on the focus assist lens’s would be helpful.

    Thanks.
