October 22, 2009 at 8:48 pm in reply to: Text looks great in AE quicktime export, in Final Cut window, and then…Hi Erin,
You say “…the letters were clean but the entire AE section was darker.”In AE in the project setting, in the file drop-down menu, you should check the “Match legacy quick time gamma adjustement” since the render of AE is not quick time, there a gamma difference, or you can use the export command which is the quick time exporter and everything should be ok.Remember when you use DVC/pro,is 8bit, if your source and/or comp setting are 10bit to 32bit you should see color bending in the gradient, so make your color correction in 8 bit.
Hope this help.

September 24, 2009 at 2:16 pm in reply to: Suggestions on how to film a sequence for post…If you have to track the motion, consider a planar tracker like mocha for after effects instead of a point tracker, because your camera shake is kinda shaky for a point tracker. You can shot a scene on a tripod in hd then reshot the same scene with your jerky movement, track this movement then add it to your tripod shot that already have the effect on it.That prevent every track/matching movement problem and add a realistic movement, because is actually a real movement to your camera, and if you shot in HD you’ll have a lot of space to to zoom in your SD and add some pan…
Hope this help

Some effect does’nt work with mask, maybe they should but they don’t, I look at your screengrab and maybe is just because your mask are at none when they suppose to be at add or at substract. If is the mask combination with the effect that cause the problem, then precompose and apply the effect on the precomp.
Hope this help

There a way to do (sort of) this but i didtn recommend it because you need to keep the same name for different asset. You’ll have to duplicate the project you want to switch is asset.First, regroup all of the asset you want to overwrite in the project in a folder(in and out AE), then do the same with the asset you want to use(it work even if the asset are in 3d comp as long as they are the same size…etc)you’ll probaly have to move the original folder outside(just to make them offline) otherwise AE will find it and use it, so just rename your folder then use the copy of the project you just make then reconnect the now offline asset with the asset you want in.One project for each new bunch of assets. If you have a project that have hundred of assets you want to change quickly, that the way.

In AE, under project setting, there’s a check box named match after effects quicktime gamma adjustments, try it.You can try to export from file menu instead of add to render queue, this way you’r sure is quicktime render, not the AE render module.
Hope this help

At my job, light wrap from key correct pro work with premultiplied footage, check the footage interpretation. If not working, try to duplicate then use as track matte then precompose then aplly light wrap!

In after effect try export via file menu instead of add render queue. If you check the project setting in file menu, you should see color profil, if its on, you can match legacy after effect quick gamma adjustement…, maybe it the problem…But if the color profile is off, and your color are set, let it off. There few problems between after effect and quick render engine that why you should try to “export” via export because it use quicktime renderer.
Hope its help

April 30, 2009 at 4:03 pm in reply to: Track line by it’s two ends (look like a spiderweb)Bonjour Christina,
Philippe Lessard
