Hi Dan,
Yep that was good idea…

First, what kind of footage it is?
In case its H264 or any “compression codec” you will have trouble keying, especialy with the kind of footage you have(with a lot of hair around her head)even with professionnal tool, those shots are difficult. The first thing to do is re-export your footage in 4444, prores 4444 or Animation codec will do it (not magic, but could help). In your screencap I see it in the plugin window, “reconstruction sampling”try to put it to 4444.
You shouldnt key in Premiere, do it in after effect instead, with keylight.
Before buying this pluging I will test the other included such as Ultrakey, and you should try the Keyer from Phyx not the Fast keyer…Always do your key in 100% resolution. Watch a online tutorial about keying.
Consider reshooting your talent with a tight ponytail, no hair messing around.
But you really should watch a online tutorial about keying…
Good luck

I ‘m with Ted , I’ll try to do a clean plate too then a difference matte.Otherwise rotobrush could help here, since there a lot of clean edge in the area you want to clean, give it a try.
Good luck

May 20, 2011 at 7:45 pm in reply to: mov files look fine in Quicktime, but jump in After EffectsLike Dave said, just reconvert the sorenson to animation codec or whatever lossless codec, should do the trick. You should never work in after effect with long GOP compressed file.
Hope this work

Yep, one precomp by elements, and put a camera in each of the precomp then move your precomp in the main comp where you want, the perspective should’nt change.

March 15, 2011 at 8:54 pm in reply to: Question about this specific type of animation. Client wants me to create this on Deadline!!Yes puppet tool, and old good AE animation should do the trick. Just be sure your client provide you a “LOCKED” voice over before you start to animate(seriously), because a single change in voice over can be translated in hours of retiming, so precomp everything you can to be able to change : graphics, mouth, animated elements… easily. Also you may want to check this wonderful script
https://ik.duduf.com/, there some tutos on the site that explain how it work.Hope this help
