Track line by it’s two ends (look like a spiderweb)
Posted by Christina Labelle on April 29, 2009 at 2:21 pmHi!
I have a problem tracking a line in After effects… It seems simple, but my brain just stopped thinking. I want to track this line by it’s two ends so it looks like a spiderweb. I tried the puppet tool pins, tried some expressions with effects, tried with masks and now, my nose’s bleeding because i’m thinking too much… Please, someone, HELP ME!!!
ThanksChristina

April 29, 2009 at 3:24 pmChristine, how does one go from “tracking a line” to a spiderweb? I have no idea what you’re seeing in your head so wipe your nose and try rephrasing the question. (You’re being issued a ticket by the Grammar Police: it’s is the contraction, not the possessive)

April 29, 2009 at 6:37 pmyou may be looking for the beam effect.
it will connect 2 points with a line. those 2 beam points can be attached (via the position expression pickwhip) to nulls (or other layers) that could be tracking points on a clip if that is what you are looking for.

April 29, 2009 at 8:59 pmOh. That’s different. Glad we got that cleared up. So all you want to do is connect the dots?
Try Glue Gun (needs a mask or other path) and Lightning, too.
Do you have any other plug packages? Delerium has a great laser effect, similar to beam, but more stuff to tweak.bogiesan

April 30, 2009 at 4:03 pmBonjour Christina,
Philippe Lessard

May 1, 2009 at 1:54 amOui, merci, j’ai eu ce que je voulais simplement avec le beam effect. C’est drôle ça, tu dois connaître Matt Dumont, stagiaire chez Alt:P
