I would ask this as well.
Additionally, you mention what the source footage (video) frame size is, and what you’re exporting to, but what are your sequence settings?
At first glance this looks like a Premiere doing some fast scaling. Either double check the sequence settings (you should, in this case, also be using a custom sequence matching your import/export requirements), or make sure you have you used the “Maximum Quality” checkbox to use high quality scaling on export.

We’ve seen the same issue, mostly with HDV content. It doesn’t help you, I know, but we haven’t seen it with any other content.

If you can find a Mac, I recently read that the new update to Digital Rebellions Pro Maintenance Tools includes a CS Repair (Premiere Pro) utility to fix corrupt projects. I don’t know if it works (and am not a customer and/or sponsor) but if you need the project very badly, it might be worth the effort.
Having said that, if you don’t have access to a Mac I certainly don’t mind downloading the trial and seeing if it can fix the issue for you. I’m with family for the holidays right now and have the time to help, even if I don’t know a tried and true solution.

Hi Vasco,
While we’re on Mac here with PPro we encountered a very odd error recently where Premiere wouldn’t open ANY projects under any circumstances. Are you able to open any other projects or does this happen with all projects.
In the end, we discovered that the issue was for that particular user account. I don’t know if this will translate to Windows but in this editor’s case, we had to create a new user account for her (deleted her old one) and everything went back to normal.
You can also try opening an auto-save version of the project if the above doesn’t apply. It’s a shot in the dark but maybe it will help…

Not that I can think of. I’ve had lots of trouble with ClipWrap and clip spanning though so while we have a seat of it, I’ve never used for anything other than an emergency. I think I will revisit this position (and Clipwrap.)

Hi Wes,
Unfortunately, all that metadata does travel in the card structure. What that means is the structures must be maintained if you want anything other than the video clips themeselves.
This includes, but is not limited to: timecode, spanning data (for clips that cross the filesystem size limit), and any metadata you may have programmed into the camera.
There is a massive caveat with Premiere: Dublin core is currently broken so you can’t do anything with the AVCCAM metadata anyway. For now at least.
These limitations are for all AVCCAM products, not simply the AF100. I’ve repeatedly petitioned Panasonic to stop the non-descriptive naming madness with AVCCAM products but it doesn’t seem anyone is listening.
Regarding portability: you can just use the MTS files. But without metadata all clips will start at 00:00:00:00 and they wont span. However if neither of those two caveats bother you then rename and copy away!
It would be really nice if Premiere would include a much more robust media manager (CS6?) that would help keep these file-related issues at bay.
We’ve had an AF100 since launch and have been using it with Premiere exclusively since July so while I’m happy to share anything I’ve learnedly thus far, I’m also anxious to hear about what others are doing!

The AME preset folder will be empty until presets are created. 🙂 We have preset workflows for specific clients and some consistent formats for deliverables.
As far as sync’ing goes we use a few 3rd Party Utilities and some custom scripts; there are lots of options although it will require having write access to users’ folders.
A simple SFTP browser will work too if you enable SSH on each Mac – this is the easiest method but will give users file-level access to others’ home directories so should be used with care.
One way would be to have presets be copies nightly to a shared location so they can be downloaded and used as required by other workstations/users. As of yet there is no cookie cutter solution that will suit all shops, but lots of possible DIY solutions that are consistent and reliable.
I do wish these settings were in a place more conducive to simplified multi-seat management but as it stands now it’s not the end of the world.

Avid Codecs LE are Quicktime codecs, so you must select the Quicktime option and then you’ll be able to select DNxHD (and others) just like you would select ProPres or DVCProHD, etc. etc.

– What is your sequence setting?
– What are are the media formats?
– Are you running the latest PPro? (5.5.2)
