CatDV is an expensive solution and it really bugs me that you can’t drag a clip from
the search window straight into FCP without losing the in/out of that particular piece of logged mediaYou could always try entering the info into a spreadsheet such as Excel
if it is the clips you want to log. Take a look at the “Working with batch list”
part of the FCP user manual. (Page 301?)I’m working on making a generic Filemaker Pro template that uses XML too.

You are probably better off using Soundtrack Pro for this.

No problem!
The fact that some were grouped was probably because of the filename being the same, but a number changing.
eg
peter1.jpg peter2.jpg etc = possible image sequence

Sounds like you have your collapse into image sequence button on.
Toggle it off, its on the right of the bottom of the file browser window next to the new folder iconPeter

You could always use the cut it in half and do a mix between the ends trick 😉

I asked at IBC if Sapphire was going to be ported to FXPlug and the answer was that they had other projects to do before that.
A big error in my book, there are a lot of people waiting in the wings with FXPlug products.[Noah Kadner] “Apple has made the core functionality of plugins completely open to Motion developers”
There are problems within the FXPlug SDK that Apple should really sort out. Having said that the power & speed of FXPlug is amazing-
blurs are 5 times faster for example. Complex generators work in 1080i in real time on my MacBookPro.Peter

Can’t say that that model is OK, but make sure the RAM has the large heatsinks, they look as if they don’t.
Compare with here https://www.apple.com/macpro/expansion.html
Apple have tweaked the cooling system and you might find a performance hit and/or more noise!Oh and don’t forget to add RAM symetrically

I’ve just got a 30″ and I thought it would be too big – wrong! it now makes my 23″s look small!
No dead pixels at all and I’m amazed that my MacBookPro powers the thing.A very different layout approach can be done for FCP, also good that the canvas & source are at 100%
in anamorphic mode.Edit on one 30″ or two 23’s – hard choice now I would always gone for the latter but now I’m not too sure.

ps dont anybody say what about 2 30″s!

When Motion was released I know they actually had a PDF of the keyboard layout.
