I had written a long rant but then I looked at your post again

then I looked at your reply to my post

Well FCP does use FXPlug and very succesfully, therefore you cant say the second line.
Take a look at the render speeds for example and the light rays play back in realtime
in full quality on my MBPAs for your problems I would suggest you do all the things recommended so often
on this site.Peter

Could we all come an agreement that this is now not true?
FXPlug now works within FCP and I know you are having problems Walter,
but the whole FCP world is moving over to this plugin standard because it
is so dam fast. You are the first person I’ve heard of who has had to remove the plugs.Take a look at what people are doing with FXPlug, FXFactory is one good example.
Our friend Graeme Nattress (Who is the Apple official No1 FCP plugin writer) is converting his stuff over
like mad when he manages to get time off from RED.So do the extrapolation, the graphics card is going to become more & more important as
time goes on, especially around April would be my guess 😉Peter

I’m seeing a huge speed increase increase on blurs etc.

Well, now that 5.1.2 supports FXPlug if you use those plugins the speed of those renders will depend on the power of your graphics card. Expect more reliance on FxPlug in the future.
