Not what you want to hear, but there is one big advantage of Canopus/Edius over FCP and that’s its agile/agnostic timeline.
It cannot be beaten for playing back multiple codecs on one timeline. Other than that, FCP wins 🙂Peter.

That used to be the case, but the Apple RAM has a special heatsink designed to increase

So maybe you can you use third party RAM, but it will be noisier!
