Fairly easy, just set the background as a 2D layer on the bottom.
Then position you elements in 3D space and then move the camera.

I think what you are seeing is completely normal. It is because you have the canvas set to 100% and are therefore seeing both fields and hence the movement.

This is a limitation within FCP I’m affraid , but there is a workaround.
Nest your graphic with a matte generator underneath that has its opacity set to 0%.
Then apply Volumetrix to the nest.

You could also render out an animation+ movie out of Motion and use that in FCP, set the alpha to black.

I’m using an ATI card with no problems whatsoever. I do have a fibre channel card installed, but not anything else.

Off the top of my head if it is a heat issue:-

1) Are all your fans working correctly?
2) Have you tried running without the ATTO card installed

Unfortunately with the current FCP transition GUI, there is no way you can put a keyframe within an actual transition. Should Apple decide to add such a feature on its next FCP release then it would be pretty easy to do this within the plugin.

You are right saying it could be done with a movie or even by nesting, somehow.
