Yeup, You will experience nightmares handling HDV in a ProRes sequence. HDV is the devils codec!

I’m going 🙂
In case you didn’t know, although the Keynote is free to report, all the sessions are covered by an NDA.
So you will get coverage on Monday, but thats about it for what happens inside the Moscone apart from things like the Design Awards.

I think you were sold virtual VTR instead of Picture Ready. Have a chat with Mark Gilbert at The Gallery – he will tell you if you machines are up to doing the ProRes recording too.

Even better, use the free pan & zoom plugin from Noise Industries
https://www.noiseindustries.com/fxfactory/panandzoom/Yes I might be biased, but I use this plugin on broadcast productions all the time, very easy to use and enables you to do dissolves easily whilst the picture still zooms/moves.

Make a custom preset in Motion with the PAL D1/DV anamorphic setting. Actually, thinking about it there might be a correct preset already built – all my machines are already set up. (Broadcast PAL 16:9)
When you bring the project into FCP, toggle the anamorphic box on in the browser.
You might have to toggle the ‘correct for aspect ratio’ setting in the view menu in Motion to display the project correctly.
Hope that helps

For me a FCS2 install is around 2 hours or so.
Then there are the updates…

I think it is a great way to test out a plugin – there’s a lot of rubbish out there.

Although the FxFactory 2.0.7 installer will install the latest versions of Volumetrix & Motype, these are 15 day free trials. A licence for each will cost $49 and $99 respectively. You do not need to purchase FxFactory.
If you haven’t seen Volumetrix2 or Motype, checkout the demo reels:-

Hope that helps!
