No, incorrect, M2 works fine in 10.3.9. I would rather run in 10.3.9, indeed I am currently contemplating going back to 10.3.8.

Wrong again, if you want to render in more than 8bit then yes, the new code kicks in o/w no.

Funny that, the same thing happened to me yesterday.
I recently upgraded the RAID utility by software update and noticed that sometimes although the RAID is shown, sometimes it is locked searching with two red lights. Looking at the log showed it had lost connection via ethernet.
The only thing for it was to yank the power cords.

But for the moment, could the FRC be sent back into the deck and the deck does the downconvert to SDI in EtoE?

Is your canvas in fit to window?
Have you tried trashing your prefs or running FCP rescue?

Motion has been able to read IFFS from day 1, download the PLE version of Maya and it will load the quicktime elements required. I mentioned this in my review

Says who? What do you mean by buggy? The hardware controllers? My XSR hasn’t missed a beat apart from the ribbon cable falling off the on/off switch- but then again its flightcase did smash when it was dropped by cargo handlers.
Nobody else I know has had problems either, so I’m curious to know your source/s

Glad you liked the review. I was going to do a review of M2, but there wasn’t really a whole lot more in 2 than 1, especially under Panther. One addition I do like though is being able to toggle the broadcast monitor on/off without having to dive into the prefs. Customise your icon bar to get this feature – well it was requested!
Most LCD’s don’t show the second field, so you will only see half of your output! One manufacturer is trying to make an ‘interlacing emulator” although I haven’t tried it. Bad contrast ratios and lag make LCDs a bad choice for final reference, you will need a CRT.
I’ve got a Sony Grade 1 SDI monitor fed from a Decklink card – although this might seem overkill, nearly all my work is for broadcast, so it has to be spot on. Cheaper options would be firewire out through a camera to a monitor etc.
