Got thru about half the course….totally unsuitable for my workflow. I build far too many FX in the timeline and build far too many layers to deconstruct and reconstruct a 15 minute sequence.

Oliver – thanks so much for your interest. I have posted two dozen stills at https://www.flickr.com/photos/52396929@N08/sets/72157627277617219 showing the issues. The shots starting with R are the second shoot day.

Perhaps you can give me your opinion as to whether it’s worth $300 on X just for this?

    Thanks in advance.

Thanks Boris – I tried the pdf’s in BCC but frankly I learn better from video than print. It seems very complicated and my footage is wildly different, and of course they want it yesterday.

April 24, 2011 at 5:04 pm in reply to: HSN – 720p/60 to ProRes HQ 1060i/29.97

Thanks – I wound up watching some tutorials and basically did the same thing you suggest, just in Compressor. I have been spanked before about exporting from FCP compared to Compressor. I chose the uncompressed preset in HD, changed the codec to ProResHQ and did just what you said.

Now I know – I hope someone needs it again before I forget!

But then the client would be in the room the whole day 😉

I wish there were an app for that….

All I want to do is simple start, stop, home. Have an HDMI monitor in the next room for clients. Thought perhaps I could sit in with them to review comfortably….

    March 2, 2011 at 12:51 pm in reply to: 720p 30?

I tried that but could’nt figure out what to set the Compressor drop down in the settings window – only 720 30 (29.97) is HDV not DVCPROHD or Uncompressed. That’s why adapting the Apple 720p 30 preset to add the AJA seems simpler. But I can be persuaded otherwise with compelling advice.
