It’s definitely something that we will look at first – if we discover that we have done everything that we can and that the problem is not on our end then we will pass the issue over to Apple. Sarah sent along a project file that we’ll take a look at to see if we can reproduce the problem in-house, which is key to resolving the issue.

Boris RED runs in Snow Leopard without any issues that we are aware of. For this version of the Mac OS, you should download the latest version of RED from our website – borisfx.com/downloads

If you need to extrude a raster image file, the tool you are looking for is the Vector Trace tool, which is included in the product Boris RED and available as a plug-in for AE. Free trials of this and our other products are available on our website at borisfx.com/downloads.

Hi,

To draw a spline mask using any BCC filter, you need to the following:

• Set the PixelChooser to On
• In the PixelChooser group, twirl down the Region group and select Custom
• In the Effect Editor window, there is a vertically stacked array of buttons along the right side – click on the second one from the top, which is Custom Spline UI
• In the Composer window, click and drag to create the shape that you want

Hi Peter,

If you have selected Millions + in the Color Depth Settings then the movie that you export will include the alpha information from your composite. Quicktime will not display the alpha information so you will have to import the rendered clip into RED or FCP in order to see the alpha channel info.

Hi Sean,

I have a sneaking suspicion that it’s a problem with fielding in Premiere Pro. It may be something in RED/Graffiti or it may be something in the host. We won’t really know until one of the engineers takes a look into the code.

As soon as I hear back from them I’ll pass that info along.
