Hi Rotem,
We would be more than happy to assist you in the process of understanding what went wrong with the export and how to make it work for you. It might be something very simple.
I kind of doubt that it had anything to do with the filter, although I suppose anything is possible. The fastest and easiest way to resolve this is via phone – can you please call in to our support department (888 772 6747) or send me your phone number and I’ll have one of the tech support guys give you a call. You can send that to me here: peterm@borisfx.com.
Cheers,
Peter.

Hi Rob,
So did you actually speak to anyone in support? If not then I’d suggest giving them a call as I’m sure they can help with this.
You can reach them by phone at 1 888 772 6747 or via email at support@borisfx.com.
Cheers,
Peter.

Hi Denny,
I’m not sure of the exact version of the driver that you need installed sort this out for you but I believe that the problem is a driver issue. I’m going to redirect this to our support group so that someone can spend time with you to sort out the issue.
Thanks,
Peter.

Hi Dennis,
I believe you need to update to the latest video driver for your graphics card in order to prevent the crashes that you are experiencing. Please give that a shot and let us know how it works for you.
Cheers,
Peter.

Hi Robert,
Yes you can create your own custom reflection maps, but you can only use images that are in a format that the filter can read. The format that the reflection map feature uses for internal map images is .dds.
There is a free utility that you can download from the Nvidia site that enables you to save out images into this format from Photoshop.
The workflow is simple – open in Photoshop the image(s) that you want to use. Save this from Photoshop in .dds format. Then copy the .dds image(s) into this directory:
C:\Program Files(x86)\Boris FX, Inc\Lib\BCC OFX 7\Shadeers\Images\
The new image(s) will appear with the factory installed images in the same pop-up
I hope this helps,
Peter.

In addition to this, most of the BCC and FEC filters include a function located at the bottom of the filter controls that is labelled Mix with Original. You can animate the value of this parameter to blend the filtered image back with the original unfiltered input clip. A value of zero would yield the filtered result, while a value of 100 would render only the unfiltered input clip.
I hope this helps,
Peter.

Hi Ken,
Sorry to hear that you’re having some trouble with the filter – we’d like to see if we can reproduce the issue in our labs. Can you please tell us what your system specs and software versions are so that we’re comparing apples to apples? If possible, perhaps you could also send along the XML file that you’re trying to import? If so, you can send that to me at peterm@borisfx.com.
Thanks,
Peter.

Hi Wolfgang,
At this stage I’m going to have to hand this over to support, who will be happy to walk you through the process of getting this to work. Please send them an email (support@borisfx.com) with your contact information and a brief description of the problem (you can point to this thread) and cc me (peterm@borisfx.com) on your message to them.
We will make this work for you – it’s just a matter of getting the steps right.
Cheers,
Peter.

Hi Denis,
Sorry, the tutorial that you mention was removed and at this time we don’t have a replacement. Here’s how to us the filter:
• place a clip in the timeline that is of the same size as the final result that you need – the content of the clip is irrelevant as we are only using it for size
• apply the uprez filter to this clip
• double click on the filtered clip to access the filter controls
• drag the media to be uprezzed into the well layer
• then just adjust the controls until you are satisfied with the resultI hope this helps but if it’s not clear please let me know and I’ll have a video created for you (or I’ll create one for you myself) which I’ll then send directly to you.
Cheers,
Peter.
