BCC does not offer the facility to load a 3D LUT file. I’m not sure about Sony Vegas Pro but I doubt that it’s something that they offer either.

While we understand what you are looking for and realize how useful this would be, unfortunately there is nothing that we can currently do to provide this level of control as it’s something that must be made available to our filters via the host plug-in mechanism. Once it is available within the host itself, then we can offer it in the filter.

And I almost forgot to mention as one of the steps that you should make sure to place the 90 second portion of the clip at the start of the new timeline so that the matchmove filter will operate as expected.

Hmmm … I’ll have to consult with one of my colleagues who understands better the workflow in Sony Vegas Pro but I think as a quick workaround you should be able to take the cut segment, add this to a new timeline, perform the matchmove, then cut back in to the original timeline the nested timeline with the effect. Might that work?

One suggestion is to add a cut to the clip. Add the cut at the point in time where you want the motion tracker to begin. Then add the motion tracker to this segment.

Hi Forrest,

Have you tried experimenting with the Smooth option in the BCC Optical Stabilizer instead of using the Stabilize option? It may reduce the camera movement enough to make the shot work without actually generating a total lock-down.

Hi Ivan,

Very strange alright – and I’m at a loss to explain the issue that you are seeing as the typical user experience is far different from what you have described. It’s usually apply the filter, analyze the clip, set the stabilization type and render. Sometimes a couple of tweaks to adjust the result but that’s about it.

One thing though – if you change the Optical Flow resolution pop-up to half “after” you have analyzed then you will have to re-analyze and perhaps that’s the reason for the result. What happens if you do not modify the resolution pop-up? Does that solve the problem?

In this case, you have a single clip, which has V1, A1, A2. Avid creates an MXF for each. Going to FCP, our plugin links only to one, because in FCP, you cannot have a single clip link to more than one file path.

Hi Demetris,

I think there must be something awry with your installation – on Windows based systems, in Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 and CS 5.5, RED 5 should appear in the Video Effects group as a filter and the Video Transitions group as a transition. If this is not the case then I suggest that you first uninstall RED 5, then reinstall it and relaunch Premier to see if it shows up as expected.

If, after all that, it still doesn’t appear in these groups, then you might have a configuration issue that requires help from one of our tech support gurus. If this is the case, please feel free to contact them via email at support@borisfx.com.
