    Hi,

The big problem is with 64 bit support – we’re working on it but don’t have FX or Graffiti yet for 64 bit hosts such as SVpro11.

    Cheers,

    Peter.

  • Hi Itamar,

We’ve seen some results that display some flicker in the galaxies but only in the render when we have the compression turned up to a very high level. I sent you a clip of this today. When we render a full quality we do not see this issue at all. Are you seeing flickering with PTR or with a high quality render?

    Thanks,

    Peter.

    Hi Bryon,

When you have the preview monitor open for the motion tracker, do you see the search and target regions as displayed in the tutorial clip? If so, did you click on the analyze button in the control panel and if you did this, did you see the trackers in motion as they locked on to the target?

    Cheers,

    Peter.

  • Hi Jon,

After Effects should not crash with BCC 7 … that has always been and remains a very stable combination. Please contact our support group (support@borisfx.com) and one of the gurus there will sort this out for you.

    Cheers,

    Peter.

Hmmm … I would suggest double-checking to ensure that the versions are exactly the same. Are you both on the same platform and using only either the 32 or 64 bit version of RED? Is this standalone or plug-in?

    Thanks,

    Peter.

    Hi Matt,

You may be referring to the Safe Levels option, which is enabled by default. To disable this feature, go to:

    Edit>Project Settings

Uncheck the option that is labelled “Generate Safe Levels”.

You should be able to run RED in standalone mode or as a plug-in and export a movie file as well as a still image file – I’m surprised to hear that is not working for you. Is this the case regardless of the codec that you are selecting?

You should also be seeing an updated preview file … again, is this only happening when using the raw RED camera clips? Have you tried it with a Quicktime clip?

    I hope this helps,

    Cheers,

    Peter.

  • Hi John,

I don’t have a ready answer for you in regard to the problem that you’ve encountered but I would like to suggest that you give the guys in our support department a chance to help you figure this out. You can reach them via email at support@borisfx.com or by phone at 1 888 772 6747.

    Cheers,

    Peter.

  • Thanks – I appreciate that. I’ll let you know if we can reproduce the problem.

    Cheers,

    Peter.

  • Well I’m really glad that you were able to discover the issue and are now able to complete the project. I’ll see if setting up the filter as you have done on one of our systems enables us to reproduce the missing frame on render.

Anyway, glad that you got it to work.

    Cheers,

    Peter.

  • Could you please save the settings file from the BCC Stars filter and send that to me – I’ll then try to reproduce it here on one of our systems. Interestingly I just used a Mac with AE CS 5.5 and BCC 8 to render out a 10 second HD 1920 x 1080 clip and every frame was as expected. I’ll try it again with your settings.

You can send that to me at peterm@borisfx.com

    Thanks,

    Peter.
