Hmmm … the version that you have does not include this type of a filter effect, however the FX product includes the ability to load up most any 3rd party AE plug-in filter. And there are a few companies that make a lightning filter that might work for you. You should be able to find something that will meet your need on the toolfarm site.

Yes indeed – download the trial version and use your serial number and you should be good to go. Make sure you use a valid email address when you are downloading the software – there’s an unlock code that you’ll need which is sent to the email address that you use; without the unlock code you can’t install the product.

Peter.

Please try these steps to see if this resolves the problem.

I am not sure what steps you have exactly tried but see if following help:
1) Quit everything.
2) find BorisRED4.0.ini file on your system (should be in Windows
folder if Red was ever launched -
Hi,
You should probably download the RED 4.2 installer and try using that. Make sure to use the software serial number and not a cd serial number. Please let us know if this solves the problem.

Peter.

November 26, 2007 at 3:33 pm in reply to: Volleyball/Baseball/GolfBall Texture for spheresHi,
The trick to achieving this effect is to create a 3D Sphere track, then add this to a 3D Container track. When you move the SPhere into the Container, the Sphere then has a new tab titled Bump Map. It is via the bump mapping that you can give the Sphere a 3D appearance. The bump map tab includes an option to set the source to use either procedural based textures or raster image based textures.
I hope this helps.

November 21, 2007 at 8:55 pm in reply to: how to make spotlight appear a few seconds into clipHi,
All you need do is animate the intensity of the light so that it is zero when you want the light to be off and a value above zero when you want it to be visible.
I hope this helps.

November 20, 2007 at 8:18 pm in reply to: BCC5 Chroma key semi transparent after a renderHi,
This is the note from our engineering staff who have diagnosed the problem:
“We have tracked down the problem to an issue in the difference in our color conversion from 8 bit YUV to 8 or 16 bit RGB (where we do our rendering) and our conversion from float YUV to 8 or 16 bit YUV. This is being investigated by a member of our engineering staff (Paul). You can get around this problem (in an obviously unsatisfactory manner), by changing your Video Processing sequence setting from Render 10-bit material in high-precision YUV to Render in 8-bit YUV.”
Thanks for reporting the issue and we will issue an update patch to correct the problem once we have it fixed.
Cheers,
Peter.

You are indeed correct – the corresponding application to AvidFX 5.7 is RED 4.

Hi Sam,
The problem was fixed by Apple with the FCP 6.0.2 update.
