I thought I would have to go back to 10.6.7 but I downloaded Media Composer 5.0.4 from the AVID store and it worked like a charm. 5.0 install from disk wouldn’t work but the 5.0.4 did and it has been rock solid

125mb per sec, i believe, it doesn’t matter what I play off it, low res does the same thing, it almost feels like it is doing a virus scan at regular intervals or something

THe fcp and avid I am using are on the same machine. 2 year old mac tower dual core running snow lepard. Could it be a ram issue? THe fcp choked 2 twice in 6 hrs but the avid couldn’t play 5 seconds before stopping.

What is the format of your footage?

    DVCPRO HD

    What are your sequence settings?

    960×720, 23.98, dvcpro HD 720p60

    Is the 59.94 footage 24p shot over 59.94 (i.e. 24p shot over 720p60 with a 3:2 cadence) or true 59.94 (720p60)?

    Honestly I am not sure
