As mentioned in a few threads below, the PPro plugins, Twixtor or Boris Continuum Optical Flow will do ramping and super-slomo within a clip directly on the PPro timeline. You can get some “distortion” depending on the image material and movement within the shot.

DON’T leave for Europe without a Carnet. The funny thing is once you arrive with one you usually have to search out a customs official to sign it. They are usually only interested in the big ticket stuff like your camera. I’ve filmed in maybe twenty countries that accept Carnets, and not one of them wanted all the gear out on the table for a full inventory check. All too hard.
As mentioned make sure you get it signed inbound and outbound of all ports. A missing signature won’t mean squat to a Euro customs official, but you may get the third degree when returning to the States if you don’t have them.
I’m filming in Sumatra and Borneo later this month (which don’t accept Carnets). May have to do a bit of negotiating at the border I imagine. Still weighing up whether to go lightweight with HDV or full metal jacket with DVCPRO50.

The top model 9400’s usually come with a 1900 x 1200 res screen. This extra real estate is really useful for Premiere.

I’ve complained about this long and hard. I get it repeatedly with SDI 10-bit uncompressed timelines. some possible solutions I’ve used…
1. Just keep trying the export. Sometimes on the fifth attempt it works. Go figure.
2. Export to tape then recap. Bulletproof, but I get tetchy aboiut quality loss.
3. Get a second capture card in another PC and run to that for a digital dub. Run to DVD or tape from there.
A little like Solution 2 but probably less quality loss.Peter Corbett

I’m not so impressed with Steadymove. Yes it does stabilise the image, but for broadcast use, the trade-off in picture quality is horrendous.

55mm or Magic Bullet for Editors are just what you are looking for. 55mm will have more filters like the ones you are looking to emulate.

Based on Tim’s recommendation in an earlier thread, I just got a Quadro FX 4500 on eBay for $660.00 which hopefully make things a little faster for me on Premiere. I’ve also used 7800GTX’s and 7900GT’s with good results
