Hi all, in the current Resolve for Mac configuration guide, available for everyone on our support web page, I specify the Icron 2204 for USB 2.0 extension. Its not expensive and we have proven them over 50 metres in our own post facility as well as in QA. You must have USB 2.0 for the DaVinci Resolve panels to work as there is a lot of data on this USB. The Icron model has four ports at the receiver end so you can connect the panel and keyboard and a tablet etc.

Resolve reads and writes the .cube LUT format and also supports reading Cinespace LUTs.

Hi all, I recommend that Resolve users stick with the known and published system configurations and can make the decision whether to upgrade when we announce new supported specs.

Version 8 is a no charge upgrade for all v7.x customers so you can download the official release from our web site and the v7.x dongle will recognize the v8 just as if it was from the DVD.

For easy of management and performance most projects are done in reels, say 20-30 minutes each. If your 100 minute was in four reels I think your grading sessions will be faster.

Hi Kent, glad to have you join us. Can I suggest going to https://www.blackmagic-design.com/support/detail/?sid=3948&pid=4448&os=mac&leg=0 where you can find and download the manual. Resolve is a feature rich application which also means you will need to explore, discover, read, attend training or do some online if you wish to master its power. There are very good reasons for using timecode, and equally good tools for dealing with daily challenges like, all my shots have 00 timecode.

Sound strange. You didn’t mention the hardware config which may point to the reliability issue.
How did you decide to get to 1920×817 from the 1440×1080 source?
Please send a short example image/clip of the original and converted to our support at davincihelp (at) blackmagic-design.com, and we’ll figure it out.
Please exported the Resolve logs using the CaptureLogs.app at /Library/Application Support/Blackmagic Design/DaVinci Resolve/
Also, open your system profiler and use File/Save As to make a XML. The support guys can use that too.

Have a look at your input scaling settings, top RHS of the conform page, project tab. I would start there first.

Hi Michael, I think I need a little more info. Its sounding like all your VFX shots have timecode starting at 00:00:00:00 and so does the new clip. When you place the new clip in the Media Pool you have conflicts with all the other 00 clips, and this shows in the Conform page.
Resolve applies color correction to clips based on the master timeline timecode so you should establish a workflow that generates unique T/C for all clips. You can use reel names, file paths and even comments from within an EDL. At our post house here we make sure all source clips are unique in some way.
If I have the wrong understanding of what you are doing please provide a little more detail

While you can use JUST the 285, performance will be sub-optimal and beside a nice warning message that you need another GPU you wont achieve real time playback with much correction. Try to find a GT120 as they are sometimes on ebay or the like and are cheap. We have not tested the old video cards so just give it a try and see. Worst case it does not work and you need to find a newer Decklink.
