Be sure to get the latest manual from the BMD support site before you print. We updated it a week or so back.

Hi Gareth, I just checked my 7.1 system here and its the same as 8.0. The grade is copied to the clip with the cyan highlight. I do however see the point on the group grading idea.

  • Hi Roman, we will look into this further but it sounds like something for a future release.

Hi Jonathan, for now convert your stills to a sequence format that Resolve does support. This can be DPX frames or ProRes. As you mentioned the current XML import does not support multiple still frames in the XML and Resolve does not decode JPEG2000 compression.

There are a number of right and middle click mouse operations available in Resolve so a three button mouse is ideal.

  • Hi, with Resolve 8.0 now reading FCP7 XMLs that include cross fades you should be able to send the XML, have the source clips graded and hav resolve send the XML back to FCP7. In Resolve the colorist can see the clips in unmix mode so the crossfade does not affect the grade. That being said it’s also been common in the past to export clips with handles especially if the facility editing is different to the facility grading. This way if the edit changes after the grade, you have a few frames/seconds either side of the original edit already graded.

Same for 8.0, just use centre mouse click to copy that grade to the current clip.

July 6, 2011 at 7:08 pm in reply to: Run resolve on mac pro 1.1 possible?

Hi Joel, we have certified the 2008 MacPro with some limitations and so I’m not sure the older 1.1 will work at all. Resolve 8.0 will run on the latest iMac and MacBookPro and also the current 2010 MacPro. Please refer to the Mac configuration guide on our web support site for details.

Hi, this is evident when the application can’t find a Resolve dongle regardless of platform or drivers. If you reload the official release software and insert the dongle and still see the problem please send your logs to davincihelp@blackmagic-design.com, the guys there can guide you to a resolution.
    Thanks, Peter
