ok done that and it shrunk down as you rightly said but not small enough its stopped at zoom 12.5 does this mean that a graphic size of 2.5 cm wide is too big. I cannot relate graphic size to its proportion on the screen.

so does the vegas preview window mimic a widescreen tv? it appears that the rendering process is handled correctly by the dvda template so to avoid having to create a dvd to discover a problem can i set it (preview) to show any potential problem? A lot of questions sorry!

aha great so, so far so good. I assume that now haveing a widescreen format is not an issue with my converter lens? I had a trawl through the manual of the camera and could not find anything relating to a widescreen setting apart from the aspect ratio for connection to a television.

I might just have to accept that it does but still annoying not to be able to find the menu control.

i assume if its recorded in widescreen and then the dvda widescreen template is used that all will be well and i will see black bars.

Thanks for the advice! I am not sure what Panasonic are doing as the wide converter lens along with the teleconverter lens are recommended as accessories for the tm300. I did a compare shoot of the same scene and the widescreen lens does give a wider shot but maybe someone else will read this who has the same camera and can give more info.

Thank you as always for taking the time to respond.

    regards in advance
