Mine works just fine, perhaps your export is not finished and you tried to play the file? At the end of the export, does it got added to your project?

Marting,
Where are you viewing your final product? Do you have it set to view at 16×9? Download Mediainfo program to see what media format you have it set to export.Perry

Martig,
First, you don’t need HDV tape, MiniDV records just fine. You can not capture, probably because you have it set to a DV device. However, generally, you would not use PPro to capture HDV, unless you have a special card. You won’t be able to preview. I use HDVSplit instead. I still can not figure out, or perhaps it just does not, do true 24p even though your project might say so, it really does not.Perry

Mike,
I am not able to install the Premiere Elements 4.0 trail verion on my laptop. I even called Adobe technical support and they said there is no way around it, told me to basically to throw the trail out the window because the licensing has expired. I have never downloaded or installed P.E. on my laptop before! Nor on any one of my pc. Frustrating! Can I ask if the timeline can be formated to similar to Pro? in Element 4.0?

Well, when I am thru with this project, I will do a test to confirm. But, that is what happened to me this couple days, the machine did not crash, nor did it selectively crashed a directory. I did realize when I was in Premiere, it keeps giving me a “memory low” message. But I was able to finish my works, render everything out… then brought the project into Encore… then, it is gone.

manraj,
Typically, you don’t want to use Pinnacle to capture anything to bring into Premiere (it may encode a little different). Second, what version of PPRo do you have? CS3 can capture HDV from HV20 just fine except no previews. Or you can use HDVSplit to capture (Free) and import into PPro.Perry

Mike,
Thanks. So, am I correct that PSE does not have layers? Or am I wrong? Also, PE does support 24p pulldown?Perry

Vince is correct that you will probably loose some quality with HD. Export as H.264 (only in CS3) will maintain a better quality. However, I guess what you need to know is what would you final audience be, TV, HDTV, or computer? It may not be as bad as you thought.
