I am on the most recent version of AE and I do have a Kona 3. Not sure why a Kona would mess with AE. The tga files don’t go anywhere near FCP and are slammed as soon as the come into AE. If I export as Animation they look normal but in AE they look really dark. If I export a Pro Res movie it looks exactly the same as in the AE Composition window.

I am having a similar issue with sgi and targa files. When brought into AE they are super crunched in the viewer. If I export using Pro Res they continue to look very dark. If I export to Animation they look fine.
I’m using project settings: 8 bit with no working space.
I can’t post pics but I think everyone here knows what I’m talking about.

I was also getting system freezes when trying to wake my Mac up but a fresh install of the OS fixed it.

I recently purchased a new rig. Here are the specs.
2 X 2.93Ghz 6 Core/16GB RAM/ ATI Radeon 5870 video card.
I am having very odd mouse lag problems that are quite annoying. I am also having issues with playing sequences in unlimited RT. A guy in our office can play back better with a quad core. In regards to the mouse problem I have tried several different mouse and keyboard issues including a Wacom tablet and I get the same poor results.
Some people say it could be my video card and some say it could be a dirty power issue. I took the rig back to the store and the tech geek in the back said it worked fine for him but when I showed up with the keyboard and mouse to test it he had boxed up the computer and gone home.
Here is a clip of the screen and the weird jumpy jittery problem I am having.

You can see the mouse and the window I am dragging freeze for a second even though I am mousing smoothly and continuously. The mouse and keyboard and Wacom tablet work perfectly on my old Dual Core.

August 1, 2010 at 12:22 am in reply to: Media Manager: “Unknown Error trying to reconnect…”I was trying to Media Manage a 1 hour fight show and MM would not cooperate. When I tried to make a copy without linking to multi clips and eliminating unused media it would still take over 200GB so it obviously was not managing anything.
MM is still complete crap.
Sorry this isn’t helpful but MM really does suck!

I’m having the same problem and I not using Snow Leopard. I’m on 10.5.8 and FCP 6.0.6. and this problem is new after a recent upgrade recommended by my super helpful Software Update. I have yet to try it on both my rigs but I have this problem on my laptop. Will try my tower next but is very annoying.

This just happened to me for the first time.
No update. Didn’t change anything on my system.
I’m running 10.5.8 with a Kona 3, FCP 6.0.6.

Thanks Adolfo.
Close, but then the whole layer acts as an obscuration layer and not just the visible object. I know AE isn’t a true 3D program but I thought for some reason this would be fairly straight forward. It seems to get the look I’m after would require some masking.
