Log and Transfer Error with P2
I’m attempting to Log and transfer some clips from some P2 files I have. Every time I do this it comes up with an “!” warning in the queue. I’ve done this dozens of times before with no problems and I can’t figure out what the issue with. Recently upgraded to Snow Leopard and I believe this might be the issue. The files also all show up on the clip list and are all playable in the Log and Transfer window. They can also be ingested with Premiere but I haven’t explored that all the way.

The only version of FCP that works with Snow Leopard in terms of inputting P2 is 6.0.6. Others have noted this issue and said that going to 6.0.6 fixed it for them. Or getting the FCP 7 upgrade as part of FCS 2009.

Sounds like my problem. Do you think I could ingest using premiere for now because I can’t upgrade with my version nor have money for Studio 3

How about reverting back to Leopard (involves a reinstall)? Footage captured with another NLE might be troublesome in FCP. Since Premiere works with MXF natively.

Premiere Pro does not force you to convert your footage in the first place which is an advantage…but that will not allow you to work with the footage with FCP.
You will have to do as Shane suggests.

I’m having the same problem and I not using Snow Leopard. I’m on 10.5.8 and FCP 6.0.6. and this problem is new after a recent upgrade recommended by my super helpful Software Update. I have yet to try it on both my rigs but I have this problem on my laptop. Will try my tower next but is very annoying.
