While I have your attention I have an additional question.

Lets say I have a project with multiple audio tracks. For simplicity we’ll say 4. I create a sequence and in the audio tab I create a Multichannel sequence with 4 as the Number of Channels. I keep each track as Adaptive and under the Map column I set each track to the corresponding output.

    Audio 1 – Output 1
    Audio 2 – Output 2
    Audio 3 – Output 3
    Audio 4 – Output 4

Now when I export (trying to export ProRes) I choose Uncompressed and I set the Basic Audio Settings to 4 Channels and the Audio Track Layout to 4 Channels.

Now the odd thing here is that in the audio mixer, I don’t see any levels for tracks 3 and 4. In FCP I know I can’t actually listen to tracks set for 3, 4, 5, and up but you at least see them in the audio meters. I can’t see the audio for my track 3 or 4 and when I import any of my test exports, all I ever get is track 1 and 2.

    Any idea about that?

    Thanks Angelo.

It’s the panning thing that got me. Not sure why that’s a requirement. Personally I prefer the simple designate track 1 to track 1, track 2 to track 2 of FCP. More complicated than it need to be in my opinion (unless I’m misremembering how things work in FCP)..

It would be FANTASTIC if Adobe would allow you to modify the audio tracks of an existing sequence instead of having to create a whole new sequence just to add more track export options. I find this a little frustrating.

  • I’m having similar issues. I however drag a series of sequences from Premiere directly into the Encoder interface. In CS6 the sequences would load like wildfire. Now each sequences can take up to a minute or more to load over.

I’ve also been seeing a “Connecting to Dynamic Link Server” message pop up now and I’ve never seen that before.

I just had this happen to me. I had to spread some files to a second drive and all that media went offline with “unspecified file path” and I could not relink even though I knew exactly where the media was and could see it in the relink media window. FCP just refused to recognize those files.

I went back to the last autosaved project and everything relinked perfectly. Some kind of crazy corruption to the project file.

  • Got it. Another quick question, without going into masks and tracking points, how much better is the pro version just straight up applied, no messing around. Just fast and dirty. Any difference? Are these crazy pro features offered in the trial version?

  • No. I misunderstood the pre-comping the pre-comp.

  • No. I did not change the in point in the main timeline. When I apply the effect whatever portion of the video that is in the timeline disappears and is replaced by video from much earlier in the clip and the video I am trying to target gets slipped right out of the entire original media clip. So if I make my comp as long as I can to fit the clip and I navigate to the end of the clip/comp, it ends somewhere closer to the beginning of the clip with a huge section of media that is just gone. Pushed into limbo.
