Oh God……thank you someone else who feels the same about that scene…..it killed me to watch….soooo long….so boring….so DUMB…….it went on and on……and they didnt even get bruised after TUMBLING with 4 ton animals that are rolling on top of them and bumping them into the walls…..just retarded if you ask me……after that scene the rest of the movie really sucked….what a overhyped piece that was……

Cool, thks for the response….Im glad to see its not just me that thinks this way….usually the response I get for these kinds of coments from “Avid” editors…..(not sure why you would ever label yourself like that but people do) is that Avid is the best and I just need to think differently…..

I feel like a big complainer here at work, all the Avid editors that dont know any different dont understand. Just seems like a lot of extra work to do things that I do in every other program very easily….PS, FCP, AE, combustion, motion, they all work the same way as far as compositing for the most part……Avid has advanced keyframes…..um….really not very advanced now are they…….goofy interface for FX……

Insanity…..Avid is trying to still rape people, they only made Express Pro because if FCP and they dumbed down the interface while trying to tell Avid editors that they can use this at home in conjunction with a Media Composer, and the great thing is the interface is the same, editors create their on workflow depending on the interface in front of them, Avid is forcing old Avid editors to change the way they are used to editing but selling them on the fact that the interface is the same…pure marketing crap….its like they just cant give in and give the customer what they need in this ever changing market where they have other options. They need to wake up and stop this archaic business practice that they got so used to in the past, its a new world out there and the purple beast moves like an old man……and I like the media compser interface, but went out and bought Express Pro for my house to use in conjuntion with my Adrenaline at work….nope……its a pain and its not the same…..Give me my Media Compser interface please…thks…

you have to load your bins into the superbin, it doesnt save the bins Ive loaded after shuting down, so I have to reload everything again…..not a huge deal, but a pain, especially with Adrenaline crashing periodically.

Just the form factor alone makes this a more attractive alternative to me than the Firewstore, that thing is really awkward on top of the camera……I like the way this sits underneath…..

  • thanks, makes sense……

  • I understand how it all works, I guess my question is if I set up my QT conversion to the same settings as my timeline, the movie is the same exact size if I export it as a FCP self contained movie…..so why is it taking longer? Is it actually recompressing to DV even though it already is coming from a DV timeline? Is it degrading the picture in any way? When would you use QT Conversion export and set it to your timeline settings, or is this redundent…..
