  • I could always use VideoReDo to combine all of the VOB’s into one & the I would have to reset chapter markers before rendering the file out to MPEG2 again. In DVDA I would then have to create a new menu.

I’m concerned that going this route might cause re rendering with a quality drop. Would this happen?

If it does then I might also consider dividing the original into a few clips at points where a little stabilization would help. Ideally the whole video needs some sharpening but I have yet to see any video where sharpening really works.

    Thanks in advance

I haven’t tried it but doesn’t the pan-crop tool have a setting that allows you to set the amount of smoothness that is used between key frames? It might me worth checking out.

    Thanks in advance

I used to get these messages when rendering about whether or not a clip needed re rendering or not but I can’t recall seeing this message for over a year. Is there some way I could have turned this feature off?

    Thanks in advance

The only other layer that I have tried so far is the Burner which played it OK using Power DVD by Cyberlink.

    Thanks in advance

I seem to have said that everything was OK too soon. I have just previewed this project which is Blu-ray & then burned it to a re writable disk. The preview is 100% as I expected they disk isn’t.

There are 2 differences. In preview the background music for a menu plays all of the way through yet on the disk I only hear the music for 2 seconds & then nothing.

The second difference is that on a menu I have the thumbnails highlight set to rectangle around the text box. On the disk I see the menu & see the highlighting on the first thumbnail displays for about 2 seconds before it disappears. The remote then stops working & I can’t can’t access any button to have anything work.

I have gone back to the original project on the PC as well as trying to play the disk elsewhere but both are operation exactly as described above. The disc has been used before without incident.

    Thanks in advance

    It’s all my own footage.

What I’m trying to do was alter the starting point of play when a thumbnail was clicked. It appears that I must have entered the chapter point incorrectly in Vegas & I was trying to drag the marker along the timeline in DVDA to make it start at the correct place. The marker moves OK but when I clcik to save the marker I get that message.

    Thanks in advance

    Thanks for the reply.

I suppose that one could take any large picture & crop to only 10% of original size & still have quality at least equal to a SD video file.

    Thanks in advance

It appears to have burned OK. I still don’t know why DVDA would’t.

    Thanks in advance

The only new feature that I’ve seen listed in version 6 is 3D and I won’t be using that,or if I ever do it won’t be for a long time.

What I have done is gone back to the Ashampoo program and it is burning the disc as I type this.

Why is this couldn’t be done in DVDA I guess I’ll never know but it appears to be working and then I guess I’ll soon find out for sure.

It says its burning a 2.3 even though the disc is rated only 2. So I guess I’ll just have to wait and see.

    Thanks in advance
